Q: My credit card will not work. What should I do?

A: This is a very common problem. Please try the following trouble shooting tips

  1. Date format is wrong (mm/dd/yyyy)
  2. Billing address does not match billing address of selected credit card
  3. Security code from your credit card is missing or incorrectly entered
  4. Your name is incorrect or does not match name associated with the billing address
  5. If you do not click on the "disclaimer", the screen will not move.
  6. If you still are experiencing issues, click the Customer Support link at the bottom of the screen.

Q: I am a D&B customer. Can I use my D&B subscription to pay for this report?

A: No, part of your D&B agreement states that you will not distribute a copy of your report to anyone outside your company.

Q: What is a D-U-N-S number?

A: The D&B D-U-N-S Number is a unique nine-digit identification sequence, which provides unique identifiers of single business entities, while linking corporate family structures together. D&B links D-U-N-S Numbers of parents, subsidiaries, headquarters and branches on more than 70 million corporate family members around the world. Used by the world's most influential standards-setting organizations, it is recognized, recommended and/or required by more than 50 global, industry and trade associations, including the United Nations, the U.S. Federal Government, the Australian Government and the European Commission. In today's global economy, the D&B D-U-N-S Number has become the standard for keeping track of the world's businesses.

Q: How do I get a D-U-N-S number?

A: Click on the “Register your Company” link within the “Find Your Company” step or contact our Customer Support group by clicking on the link at the bottom of the page.

Q: Do I need to fill in all the requested information?

A: While we encourage you to fill in all of the requested data, only the fields marked with a red asterisk are mandatory.

Q: What is a Supplier Risk Score?

A: The Supplier Risk score predicts the likelihood of a firm ceasing business without paying all creditors in full or reorganizing or obtaining relief from creditors under state/federal law over the next 12 months. The rating is derived from D&B’s Financial Stress Score that is calculated using a statistically valid model derived from D&B’s extensive data files. The Financial Stress Score percentile is basis for the Supplier Evaluation Risk (SER) Rating. Once the Financial Stress Score percentile has been calculated for a business, a secondary set of rules is applied to determine the SER Rating.

Q: What is the Supplier Qualifier Report?

A: Supplier Qualifier Report helps companies facilitate the evaluation of suppliers according to risk, financial stability and credit information. This enables companies to minimize the Request for Information evaluation process in the entire sourcing cycle for supplier qualification.

Find Your Company

The ‘Find Your Company’ step allows you to search for and identify your company within the D&B database. The step is made up of three sections:

  1. Company Search
    • Allows you to search for your company by Business Name and Address or by D-U-N-S Number.
    • Enter in the appropriate data and click the ‘Search’ button
  2. Select Company
    • You are provided a list of companies in the D&B database matching criteria entered on the ‘Company Search’ screen
    • To select your company, click the radio button next to your company and click the ‘View Company Details’ button.
    • If you do not see your company displayed, you can:
      • Return to the ‘Company Search’ screen and revise your search criteria
      • Click the ‘Register your company’ link to contact your local D&B customer service center to request a D-U-N-S Number
      • Click on the “Customer Support’ link at the bottom of the page for additional support
  3. Confirm Search
    • This screen allows you to review your company information listed with D&B and confirm you selected the correct company.
    • If the information on the screen is correct, click the ‘Confirm Selection’ button to continue
    • If this is not your company, you can return to the ‘Select Company’ screen to resubmit your selection.

Complete Questionairre

The 'Complete Questionnaire' step provides you with the ability to provide information about your company. While it is recommended you provide answers to all questions, you are only required to provide answers to questions with a red asterisk.

Provide Payment Information

Within the ‘Provide Payment Information’ step, you need to provide your billing and credit card information. This is the credit card that will be charged the fee for your certification.

Ensure the Name and Address information matches that of the billing information for the supplied credit card.

Be sure to fill in all required fields. Required fields are indicated with a red asterisk.

View Registration Status

The ‘View Registration Status’ step allows you to view your current supplier certification status, your certification expiration date, and original certification date.

In addition, you have the ability to:

  1. View your receipt — Allows you to view/print your receipt for the charges to your credit card
  2. View your D&B report — Allows you to view your D&B company profile including:
    • Business Overview
    • Products and Services
    • Supplier Evaluation Score
    • Risk Analysis, Financial Stress and Commentary
  3. View your D&B profile – Allows you to view and request updates to your D&B company profile.
  4. Provide feedback on your experience with this certification process

Create Your Account

The ‘Create Your Account’ step allows you to establish an account within the portal for your company. By establishing an account, all your information will be maintained from session to session. When retuning to the portal, enter your ‘UserID’ and password on the “Welcome” screen. All previously supplied data will be displayed and all you need to do is verify/update the information.

To complete the ‘Create Your Account’ step, you will need to provide the following information:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Username
    • must be a valid Username
  • Email Address
    • must be a valid Email Address
  • Password
  • Confirm Password
    • must match ‘Password’
  • Authentication Question
    • must select a question from list
  • Authentication Response
